Arataua is a Māori Media production company established by Rotorua based couple Chey and Kahurangi Milne. Arataua comes from the name of a tiny street in Ōhinemutu, Rotorua where Kahurangi was raised, and can also be losely translated as the “path of the warrior”.

We liken ourselves and our awesome Arataua team to Māori warriors on the path to promoting the Māori world view in the mahi|work that we do.

Our uniqueness comes from our passion for te reo Māori|the Māori language and culture. As a whānau|family it’s what we love and what we do!

Having both worked in the Media and Marketing industries we decided to create our own ‘one-stop-shop’ production company. Since our establishment in 2013, we have produced hours of content across the years and have refined our skills to offer others a high-quality service. From creating television shows, to digital content and many successful projects in between, Arataua is a committed Māori production company that can support you and your kaupapa|project to be seen, heard and felt!
